Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is the world’s largest entrepreneurial and financial empowerment initiative.
It is dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and empowering women worldwide. WED is a movement that ignites women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, and drive economic expansion worldwide.
WEDO’s mission is to empower the 4 billion women worldwide to be catalysts of changes, and uplift over 250 million girls living in poverty worldwide.
Internationally 144 countries and 65 universities and colleges celebrate WED. (With a growing global legion of 333 global ambassadors activated in every continent). It is celebrated in major U.S. metropolitan cities.
The 2024 WED Colorado Summit will be held at CU Denver School of Business Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship on Friday, November 15, 2023.
The U.S. House of Representatives annually recognizes the WEDO movement on November 19th as “A Day in Honor of Women Entrepreneurs” under the leadership of Congresswoman Grace Meng.
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper proclaimed Women’s Entrepreneurship Day an official day in 2017. It is recognized by the United Nations. WEDO has held its NYC Summit there since 2014.
